THESE TIMES
News from the Hugo's
These last few weeks have been a major ‘training run’ in
faith for the whole family…. After a
lovely annual SIM spiritual life conference, we headed home to anticipate Barbs
annual PETscan. It came back with 2
spots of mild concern on her spine… Visits
to neurosurgeon, more scans, much evidence of His fingerprints along the way…
brought us out the other side, with an ‘all clear’ result for which we’re
praising our Father for. Another 6
months to ‘get on with things’ … then we see again (Barb has routine blood
tests in Jan and scans and blood tests in July).

This recent time of wondering has reminded us again to keep
our focus in the ‘up’ place (meaning our eyes on His face). Seeking His will above our own and also
remembering to love on and enjoy each other more… making the right kind of
memories. We are so thankful that He has
allowed us another window of opportunity to practice these in a time of calmer seas.
We’re winding up again for this next term. Mark started teaching at Durban Bible College
this week after the July break (this time with 2nd and 3rd
year students on the subject of Missions). He starts his weekly Umlazi ZEBS
(Zion Bible School) at the end of July again and the Mayville ZEBS, that he
assists with, has not taken a July break and continues once a month.
The kids and Barb also started school this week, with a
focus on learning and not trying to make scheduleJ Ks gym scedules and competitions culminate
this term in the regional (August) and national (Sept) competitions. J starts art, scouts and drums again
too. At the start of the holiday, he got
to go on his first 2 night camping trip with scouts which he enjoyed.

We’re now looking for a house in Cape Town and can move any
time from Oct. Praying for His timing
and direction. Pray for our resting in
Him during the wondering.
Thank you for your prayers, friendship and interest in our
lives. A huge thank you to our financial
support team too (if you’d like to find out how to support us financially,
please let us know and we will respond to you personally).
Together in His care
